Below, you’ll find human service agencies in our community that provide assistance in food, immigration, mental health, finances, and education.

  • Advocate Sherman Hospital

    Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin is an acute care community hospital with over 1,600 clinical professionals who have provided high-quality, comprehensive, and compassionate healthcare to Chicago’s northwest suburbs for more than 134 years. T. Supported by four immediate care centers and 12 Advocate Medical Group sites, Sherman provides more than 300,000 outpatient visits annually.

  • Alignment Collaborative for Education

    Alignment Collaborative for Education’s mission is to align community resources in support of public school strategies to raise student achievement, improve the health and happiness of our children, create responsibly, productive, and contributing members of our society, and advance the economic and social well-being of our community.

  • Ascension St. Joseph

    Ascension Saint Joseph has been meeting the health needs of Kane County residents for more than 110 years. Founded by the Franciscan Sisters, this 184-bed acute care hospital continues to carry out its mission of “extending the healing ministry of Jesus” in the communities it serves. Our caring doctors are here for you and embrace the whole of you: body, mind, and spirit.

  • Association for Individual Development

    The Association for Individual Development (AID) provides consumer-focused services in an equitable, inclusive manner, for individuals with developmental, intellectual, physical, and/or mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, those experiencing immediate and/or chronic crises, and those at risk to overcome barriers to achieve recovery, independence, and to live the lives they choose.

  • Centro de Información

    For 50 years, Centro de Informacion has been the place for people to whom language and culture present barriers to building the skills necessary to participate fully in our community. A not-for-profit social service agency, it carries out its mission through bilingual information, referral & advocacy, immigration and naturalization services, emergency food pantry, life skills seminars, legal clinics, parenting skills training, and programs for at-risk families.

  • Community Crisis Center

    Community Crisis Center provides 24/7 hotline, shelter, and crisis intervention services for victims of Domestic/Sexual Violence or Homelessness and their minor children. Individual and Group Counseling, Medical and Court Advocacy are offered. Partner Abuse Intervention Services are available for the perpetrators. Economic Crisis services include an emergency food pantry, toiletries, diapers, and rental assistance.

  • Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Northern Illinois

    Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Northern Illinois is a 501c3 non-profit organization, helping people in the community improve their money management skills since 1982. Certified Counselors offer budget, housing, bankruptcy, student loan and credit repair counseling and financial literacy workshops.

  • Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley

    Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley is a multidisciplinary outpatient pediatric rehabilitation provider serving the suburban Chicago area from three centers located in Villa Park, Naperville, and Elgin. We serve children with developmental delays and disabilities while supporting their families. We are a Center of Excellence for NDT and CARF accredited. Our core services include PT, OT, SLT, and mental health.

  • Ecker Center for Behavioral Health

    Ecker Center for Behavioral Health offers comprehensive services for children, adolescents, and adults. Treatment is carefully planned and customized for each person based on their needs and strengths. Clinical services and treatment programs are available for individuals with mental health, substance use, and/or gambling disorders. Prevention, education, and intervention services are provided throughout the community to empower individuals of all ages to make healthy choices.

  • Elgin Area Chamber

    The Elgin Area Chamber is a proven collaborative business community resource. We provide relevant, innovative, and impactful programming and services that ensure a healthy business climate and enhanced quality of life in the Greater Elgin Area. EAC is a champion for business, connecting communities and businesses through engagement, advocacy, collaboration, and leadership. We’re in business FOR BUSINESS!

  • Elgin Cooperative Ministry

    Elgin Cooperative Ministry

    The Elgin Cooperative Ministry is a network of nonprofit organizations and faith communities. ECM is an Interfaith Agency that exists to bolster whole-life stability for neighbors by advocating for their nourishment, health, and success. They work together to "nourish our neighbors" in Elgin, Illinois.

  • Elgin Partnership for Early Learning

    EPEL is an early childhood community collaboration that partners with organizations in the eleven communities within the 90 miles of School District U-46 boundaries. EPEL works collaboratively with partners to provide resources, early childhood community initiatives and support for families and providers of children under five years of age to prepare them for school and life.

  • Family Service Association

    Family Service Association We are a community mental health center offering services to youth, families, and adults. Our goal is to strengthen individuals and families to meet the challenges of modern life in positive and constructive ways. Founded in 1931, the organization has grown to a multi-service agency currently serving more than 2,000 families annually.

  • Food for Greater Elgin

    Food for Greater Elgin

    Food For Greater Elgin (FFGE) is the second largest food pantry in Kane County, founded in 2011. They combat food insecurity by providing resources to the community, offering guest-choice distributions weekly and collaborating with other organizations and businesses to provide additional services and resources addressing issues contributing to food insecurity.

  • Fox Valley Hands of Hope

    Fox Valley Hands of Hope (FVHH) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing expert support for children, families, and adults who are experiencing grief or loss. Our mental health programs are community-funded, allowing us to deliver the best guidance at no cost to the client– we believe that everyone should be given hope without restriction.

  • Greater Family Health

    Greater Family Health provides a full range of primary care services to publicly insured, uninsured, and commercial insured area residents. Services available include adult and senior health, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and behavioral health services, including counseling/therapy, psychiatry, and substance use disorder services.

  • Latino Treatment Center

    The mission of Latino Treatment Center is to assist people with substance misuse disorder, find comprehension, respect and compassion for the issues they may be facing in their lives. Treatment is provided by our bilingual and bicultural staff through the use of bilingual materials specifically developed to cover the needs of the Latinx population.

  • Literacy Connection

    The Literacy Connection helps adults acquire fundamental literacy skills by teaching them to read, write, speak and understand English through one-on-one, group, and workplace tutoring. These essential services are for adults with low levels of proficiency, often below a sixth-grade reading level. In addition, all programs encourage adults to pursue further education or work training opportunities.

  • Marklund

    Marklund

    Marklund serves infants, children, teens, and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. Their three residential locations–Geneva, Bloomingdale, and Elgin–are home to 178 residents. Each location has on-site Community Day Services for adults, which provides individualized programming that includes a topical curriculum and focuses on daily living and vocational skills to improve each individual’s level of independence.

We want to see all people in Elgin be able to have their voices heard, have access to the resources they need, and be able to make a contribution to the community.

  • PADS of Elgin

    PADS of Elgin

    PADS of Elgin is a 24/7 shelter that prioritizes homeless individuals' basic needs, such as a safe place to sleep, meals, and hygiene facilities. Case managers create tailored action plans with guests to identify barriers to homelessness. Services include GED assistance, housing searches, and referrals to substance abuse or mental health counseling.

  • Senior Services Associates

    Senior Services Associates

    Senior Services Associates, Inc. is a non-profit agency dedicated to sustaining and improving the quality of life for individuals age 60 and older, the disabled and their caregivers by providing access to the social services they need. They are dedicated to preserving their independence, promoting mental and physical well-being and protecting their rights and dignity.

  • Society of St. Vincent de Paul

    The Society of St. Vincent de Paul conference of St. Thomas More and St. Laurence Parishes serve the west side of Elgin, IL. It is a Catholic lay organization whose mission is to provide service to all who are in need. Our assistance may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service.

    Summit School

    As Summit School, Inc. celebrates nearly 55 years of service, they remain committed to the vision of empowering children to achieve their individual potential. Whether the student is in the Summit School Early Learning Center or the Summit School Special Education Center, all efforts serve at-risk children and drive their mission to provide programs that build a solid foundation for educational and lifelong success.

  • Well Child Center

    Well Child Center

    The Well Child Center was founded over 50 years ago with the goal of providing uninsured children with primary and preventive medical care. For over five decades, the Well Child Center has served thousands of Elgin area children and families directly and by putting them in contact with other community resources.

  • YWCA

    YWCA Elgin has an accomplished track record of delivering services and addressing issues of importance to women in our community. We are committed to addressing women’s economic empowerment, poverty, and racism in our community. Our focus is on enhancing the delivery of our educational programs, citizenship programs, quality, affordable childcare, early education programs, and advocating for women and families.
